Biography

Dan Morrell, having spent 47 years in the oil industry is like a jack of all trades master of none with respect to drilling. He started with Smith Servco, running fishing tools and underreamers. Then moving on as Directional Driller in the early 80’s boom where his first exposure to well planning and construction started. Being able to run simulations and create usable well plans has been the reason for Dan’s longevity in the oilfield. He has been involved in HPHT, underbalanced, ERD, well control, offshore, onshore, deep water and post hole projects the world over. Dan has helped engineers understand their problems and find viable solutions.
